The Critical Infrastructure Detachment (CID) provides uniformed officers and marked patrol vehicles for operators of energy exploration sites and related production and distribution facilities. CID provides the required security force projection level, from low to high profile uniformed security, based on the client’s needs and the situation.

Oil and Gas facilities are very dangerous places. PSC understands that operators must maintain a safe and secure jobsite. This includes preventing access to jobsites by unauthorized visitors. Facilities hold tens of thousands of dollars worth of specialized equipment that can be damaged or stolen. Proper access control and detailed records of personnel accessing a site are essential. PSC RFID personnel logging methods guarantee high security and detailed recordkeeping.

PSC has developed a specialized security and service program to meet operational needs. Based on first hand experience in the oilfields, and mining operations, our program is designed to assist and enhance operations and not interfere more than is absolutely necessary. Our security operations are highly effective without being overly expensive.

We Meet And Exceed Government And Industry Safety Standards

PSC is current and knowledgeable in the requirements placed upon these sites by OHSA, MSHA and the client companies. We work with the operator-companies to ensure we are in compliance with their safety policies in addition to the requirements placed upon the site by government regulatory agencies.

All PSC employees assigned to these sites have the required MSHA and/or OSHA training and documentation. In addition, any vehicle we place onsite meets all requirements including; DOT yellow warning lights, lighted whip flags, first-aid kits and fire extinguishers.

Production and exploration sites and facilities are usually located in remote areas. This mandates that any vehicle used be suitable for off-road use, plus the area’s worst weather conditions.

All PSC staff members are provided all required safety equipment and clothing including, hardhats, safety glasses (with Rx inserts as needed), steel toed boots and Nomex clothing. PSC takes safety as seriously as security and our training and equipment standards rival any major company.

Asset Protection

An unfortunate but common problem is the theft of products from remote production sites. It is not uncommon for tankers to empty holding tanks from sites that do not belong to the company they are contracted to service. Whether by accident or intentionally, this is a loss that is nearly impossible for the average security company to prevent.

PSC offers patrol and remote surveillance programs that can seriously deter theft. When you consider that, at current oil prices, the theft of the contents of one (1) 80,000 gallon tank would pay for security patrols of dozens of sites for months.
